Be Prepared
As the old Boy Scout motto states, "Be
Prepared".
Being prepared is the best way to ensure a fun and enjoyable
day river rafting on the McKenzie River in Oregon. All of our
adventures vary in what will be necessary for you to bring to "Be
Prepared" so below we have listed what M.R.A. will provide
for you, what you should bring, what you should wear and some
simple tips for enjoying your McKenzie River Adventure.
M.R.A. will Provide:
America's Cup TypeV commercial series Life Jackets, Carlisle
Paddles, Dry bags and all safety equipment, Waterproof Paddle
Jackets with hoods if desired, Booties when needed, Hyside
and Domar Self-bailing rafts, Delicious riverside meals (provided
on half and full day trips), shuttle service to the put in and back to your car,
professional and personable guides, and fun, fun, and more
fun!
Safety Equipment:
Our number one concern is your safety! All of our trips will
begin with a complete safety and paddling orientation. Our
guides are certified in CPR, First Aid and trained in a variety
of river rescue techniques. At M.R.A. we use only 100% hypalon
commercial series self bailing rafts. Each boat is fully equipped
with rescue gear and First Aid kits.
What to Wear:
For normal summer rafting conditions, please wear bathing suits,
or nylon shorts, light tops and TENNIS SHOE'S with no socks,
PLEASE NO FLIPFLOPS OR OPEN TOE SANDAL'S, a hat and sunglasses
if you like and maybe some sun block. For cooler weather, bring
a wool hat, polypropylene undergarments, to be worn under paddle
jackets and NYLON SHORTS or bathing suits, and please no long
pants or boots of any kind. The ideal footwear is still tennis
shoes with no socks, or preferably wet suit booties. Dry clothing
for after the trip. We suggest you avoid cotton socks and denim
pants, synthetics and wool are Highly recommended.
Children:
We take children four years and older. You'll find rafting a
perfect family experience. Age or size requirements may vary
per group with different water levels and river sections. Please

Photography:
At M.R.A. we offer high quality Digital pictures of your rafting
adventure taken on a lovely section of the river for a nominal
fee at the end of your trip. If you would like to bring a waterproof
camera of you own we encourage you to do so.
Corporate trips and Group packages:
We can accommodate almost any size groups and company outings.
With a wide variety of trips to choose from we have something
for almost any occasion. From Church groups, team building
group outings, or just a scenic group float with your closest

Special Customers:
At M.R.A. we would like remind you that our river adventures
are not limited to just those who are "able bodied." We
will make all efforts to accommodate any partially disabled
people in your group, while accompanied by other crew members
able to paddle. Please contact us with any questions concerning
special need for your particular group.

M.R.A. operates under a special use permit from
the U.S. Forest service in the Willamette National Forest.
McKenzie River Adventures provides services on a nondiscriminatory

licensed and insured by the state of Oregon according to law.
